Welcome!

Welcome! Kindred Community Acupuncture is a comfortable and affordable sanctuary for healing, connecting, and sustaining ourselves and our communities in Pawtucket, RI.

We are licensed and caring people with LOTS of experience and LOTS of dedication to making natural health care as comfortable, friendly, and as affordable as possible.

Owner and acupuncturist, Korben Perry has been doing acupuncture for 20 years. He co-founded Philadelphia Community Acupuncture in 2007, and was a punk at Providence Community Acupuncture from 2011 through 2016. He and the clinic are members of the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture. He lives in Providence with his family.

We treat in a community setting. It’s traditional in Asia for acupuncture to occur in a community setting. That’s because receiving acupuncture this way has many benefits. It’s easy for family and friends to come in together; many patients find it comforting; and, a collective energetic field becomes established which actually makes individual treatments more powerful.

We charge on a sliding scale. We’re committed to widening access to the people’s medicine of acupuncture. Treatments cost between $25 and $50. You simply decide what you can afford, and there is never any need to prove your income or financial situation.

Stay as long as you like. Once the needles go in, you can rest for as long as you like (as long as we have space). There’s no “right amount of time”, and most people learn what’s best for them after a treatment or two. We won’t disturb you if your eyes are closed, so whenever you feel done, just sit up in your chair or catch eyes with the acupuncturist.

Acupuncture is a process. It is very rare for any acupuncturist to be able to resolve a problem with one treatment. Frequent and regular txs are much more likely to lead to relief and real healing. This is one of the reasons we want your visits to be something you can really afford. Your acupuncturist will recommend a treatment plan.

Acupuncture is not primary care. Like any form of medicine, acupuncture has its limitations. If you have a serious health issue such as a prolonged infection, a malignant growth, or an injury that won’t heal, or if you want someone knowledgeable to go over the details of your medical history with you, you need to see an MD.

We are a sustainable and, hopefully, regenerative, community business model. This means we exist because patients pay for their treatments. We are very grateful for the extraordinary amount of marketing our patients do on our behalf. This helps keep our prices low.

COVID 19, you, and Kindred

policies and procedures and expectations:
We commit to regularly reviewing our COVID-era health procedures against the most recent updates about the virus. We feel confident that the steps we are taking will result in the safest possible environment for receiving community acupuncture.

What we have done to prepare for your visit;

All staff and volunteers have been trained in hand hygiene, cleaning, and disinfecting procedures as well as social distancing. Your practitioner will continue to wear a mask while treating you. Recliners are at least 8 feet apart with barriers in between each one. There will be no more than 6 patients at a time in the treatment room. The tea station has been removed, so please plan accordingly. We have limited the waiting room capacity to one person at a time unless you come with another person for an appointment, then you both may enter.

What we ask from our patients to prepare for their visit;

  • Practice social distance at least 6 feet in between yourself and others.

  • With reduced capacity the acupuncturist might have to get you up after 50 minutes. Otherwise just indicate with your hands or nod when you're ready.

  • If you test positive within 14 days of your visit please inform the office.

If you yourself have had COVID-19, we ask you to: Not return to the clinic until you have been symptom-free for 72 hours (3 days) without the use of medications; and that you have tested negative for COVID-19 two times, with tests administered at least 24 hours apart.

Deep thanks for your adherence to these policies. We know it's hard. Your efforts will keep us all safe. Resources for vaccination signups and for free COVID testing: https://covid.ri.gov/

Please take some time to read about them below. Thank you for trusting us with your care.
